Do you want to change the label of a button that is in the pulldown menu, or the label that is currently displaying in the cascade, or the label to the left of it? For the latter two I unmanaged the widget, change the label and remanage it. The former I don't do yet. But what I would probably do is change the labelString on the widget, and then reset the menuHistory setting on the optionMenu in case someone was pointing at the button before.
