IMHO (in my humble opinion), I think it would be nice if the first name of the speaker (pardon such a term - can't think of a better one at this time) would appear before the printed text of closed captioning across the screen. Sometimes it is very confusing to figure out who is saying this and that... As a rule, I feel the captioning concept is pretty good with the exception of misspelled names/words from time to time. I realize it is often during live captioning that this happens. The main improvement needs to be centered on live captioning, especially during the news coverage as it is often very difficult to follow, especially for the average reader. I'd like to think about this a bit more and if I run across anything else I think might help improve closed captioning, I'll post them. Perhaps some of the others will have some suggestions I have not mentioned. -- Uucp: ..!{decvax,oliveb}!bunker!hcap!hnews!385!14.0!Ann.Stalnaker Internet: Ann.Stalnaker@p0.f14.n385.z1.fidonet.org
