Message-ID: <77708@bu.edu.bu.edu> Date: 25 Mar 91 23:12:36 GMT Sender: news@bu.edu.bu.edu Followup-To: sci.electronics Distribution: usa Organization: Computer Science Department, Boston University, Boston, MA, USA Lines: 18 Originator: jdubb@bucsf.bu.edu I am posting this for a friend of mine who doesn't have access to USENET, so please respond directly to mlevin@jade.tufts.edu. I am doing reasearch in the bio dept. of Tufts U., and need to get my hands on an AC, 0-2 Amp ammeter. I don't have the cash to get a real tester. I am hoping someone knows of a mail-order electronics supplier that sells these things - they are basically like panel meters - Radio Shack used to sell them, but no more. What I am looking for is just the ammeter, nothing else (no case, no multimeter abilities, etc.). I know of a couple of companies, but theirs are all either DC, or in the milliAmp range. Any ideas? And, another question: suppose I get one. When it says AC, I imagine it likes 60 Hz best. Any clues on what it will do if I try to measure current anywhere from 20 Hz to 1 kHz? Will it work/blow up/show wrong reading? Thanks in advance. Please reply to mlevin@jade.tufts.edu. Mike Levin (mlevin@jade.tufts.edu)
