Responsibilities include: * manage a medium size computer lab (up to 30 UNIX stations) * install and maintain a variety of computational hardware and software * install and maintain the HITL local area network and ethernet * provide UNIX system administration and support * maintain relationships with our hardware and software vendors * participate in innovative research in virtual reality. Currently HITL has DEC5000/200s, Sun 4/110s served by a Sun 4/280, a Silicon Graphics 320VGX, a NeXT, and several Macs, supporting software from Alias, Wavefront, WRI (Mathematica), Franz, VPL, and Autodesk. We expect our resources to double over the next year. We are seeking applicants with: * substantial systems administration and UNIX experience * a diversity of established skills * a strong desire to contribute to the growth of the virtual reality industry The position is budgeted to begin in June 1991.
