Depending on the nature of your traffic you might consider a Switched 56K
service.  If you need high speed file transfers but not a constant connection
then it could be the ticket.  In effect what Switched 56K service is is a
special kind of modem that allows 56,000 bit per second connections.

Sprint has it, AT&T has it, MCI say they do.
