Although Intel has announced that they will offer a V.32bis upgrade for their 
9600EX modem in 1991, they have not announced the price, or the exact time. I
have heard from a reliable source, that the price for the upgrade will be less
than half of the 9600EX' retail price.  (The retail price for the 9600EX is
set at US$799.00 at this time.)
