The local Egghead software has a Patriot 2400 baud external modem with
fax send and receive capability on sale (with $20 mail in rebate) for
a net total of $119.00

The price looks attractive.  It the unit any good?

What software will I need to use the unit?  Does it come with it?  Is
software available for it to run on a Macintosh Plus?

The sale ends April 3, so please hold your fire after that date and save
some bandwith.
