I am looking for information on Object Based File System Design and
Implementation.  Ideas on how to separate the different
components of a file system (inodes, files, directories, ...) into 
classes/subclasses is what I am specifically interested in.

Any references to publications, existing research/commercial systems, 
implementations (particularly using C++) will be extremely helpful.
