My wife, who is something of a hacker, says that Prolog reminds her
of the novice airplane pilot who said, 

    "Whew!  That was the shortest runway I ever landed on!
    But boy, was it *wide*!"

The point is of course that Prolog is simple in places where one
expects it to be complex, and vice versa.
