On the Sony tapes we use on our Exabyte drive, I noticed in fine
print the string "NTSC".

Knowing NTSC/PAL to be pure software formats, I'm intrigued.  Are
VHS tapes used on NTSC or PAL players identical?  Would any
camcorder tape work on an EXB-8200?  Or should one only use
camcorder tapes built for NTSC, whatever that means?
