I suggest that there is a SIMPLE solution to this problem. Post a SINGLE message reguarding the availability of a new posting, and then take requests. Since people are putting enough time into developing new and improved things for Minix then they should also be willing to accept the responsiblilty to post them to the proper places. And then let the people who want the sources get them themselves or request them from the author directly (in the case that they are unable to get the sources at their location). I could care less whether or not the newsgroup is spilt up but with a little more thought about sending hundreds of uuencoded files to thousands of users, who will undoubtedly delete them, this problem (or annoyance) may possibly be solved without the spilitup into two groups. Karl p.s. No Flames Please. p.s.s Maybe there should be a new newsgroup on the discussion of whether to split this group into two parts. %-) +---------------------------------------------------+ \/\/\/ + Karl Gaston : Operations Assistant + + SUNY @ Brockport + +---------------------------------------------------+ (o)(o) _________ + Please direct replies to: + C _) + BITNET : + ,___ / Cowabunga + otherwise : + / \ Dude! + + /____\ _________ +---------------------------------------------------+ / \ -- Mail System (MMDF)
