If you have this huge file alone in a subdirectory, set up a subst, making that subdirectory a logical drive. then do the backup of that "drive". Something like subst Q: c:\thisdir\thissubdir backup Q:\ A: once you have done this you must use the restore command to put it back on a ha rd drive. (as a side note I know that there are some utilities that let you "play with" the file in the backed up format but at this time I cannot think of one.) ----------------- B O R N T O C O D E !
