This is not entirely true. There were OEM versions of 3.2 that supported 1.44MB floppy drives. In particular, Zenith's DOS 3.21 supported them, and I have another OEM version of 3.21 at home that claims to support 1.44 drives (although I haven't tried it). -- Mark T.
