Science, Uni of Sydney, Australia Lines: 19 Some time ago , I damaged a Quantum 80 meg scsi drive by the stupid act of plugging the 50 way cable in , upside down on another device !. I contacted Quantum about parts , and promptly got a return fax telling me about their sevice centres. As these centres are some what a long way from me ( like try the width of the Pacific Ocean .. ) , I asked for just the logic board , as the drive still passes self test , it just wont talk to the SCSI bus. Ive not heard from them again. Since Quantum are not going to even talk to me about parts , does any other 'netter' have a Q280 drive that has 'died' a mechanical death ,that I could obtain the logic board from ?. BTW - I have another Quantum drive , 105s , that im very impressed with , its a pity about their service department .. Matthew Geier matthew@basser.cs.su.edu.au
