Keywords: unix Message-ID: <1991Apr1.090035.22477@nntp-server.caltech.edu> Date: 1 Apr 91 09:00:35 GMT Organization: California Institute of Technology, Pasadena Lines: 16 I haven't yet had a chance to play with a 3000UX, but I have got the Commodore brochure on it. (It's the one that says "Born to run Unix SVR4".) In the center, it has a picture of what is presumably the motherboard of the 3000UX. Well, it looks very familiar. Identical in fact. I looked at my stock 3000 and I can't see anything different (except the 8MB fast ram :-). Does anyone know if there is a hardware difference, or is it all in the software? If so, will 3000 owners be able to run Unix? (Maybe the difference is in those empty ROM sockets? Would a ROM switcher board work?) Thanks in advance for any info!
