I agree that performance oriented games should treat the Amiga like a game machine, and that games that do not need that level of performance should stick with the operating system. In either case, the software should be written to be compliant with the published rules in regard to the future hardware compatibility restrictions. If you can take advantage of extra memory, please do so. Can we end this thread now? Or at the very least let's have some more posts like Mike Schwartz's last telling how to use the Amiga to its greatest extent as a game machine. And let's get on with discussing how to use PPIPC to do wonderful things with the operating system that you don't see being done on a Mac, IBM, or C64.
