From what I have heard on the net, the most recent version is 2.02 (Kick 36.207/ WB 36.69). I just went to my dealer for the third time since November to see if they had the upgrade to 2.02 yet. For the third time they had no clue what I was talking about. Frustrated, I went to a competitors store and asked about the upgrade. The salesman said he did not have 2.02, but he DID have 2.03. He said Commodore sent it to his store about three weeks ago. I feared that somehow he got a developers beta version and told the salesman this. He just shrugged and said that all the 3000's in his store have been running it for three weeks and have had no problems. He then made a copy for me. I installed the new Kickstart and checked the versions. I now have Kickstart 36.303 and Workbench 36.68. If these are not the versions I should be running, I would like to know how (and where) to get the correct versions. I should note that the nearest (A3000) dealer is about 150 miles away. Finally, I have noticed what appears to be a bug (or a least an incompatability) in the new Kickstart. Should I report this to Commodore (bugs@cbmvax.commodore.com) even if I am running the "wrong" version? -- -- Steve Croll (internet: scroll@reef.cis.ufl.edu home: 904-373-8389)
