Regarding the memory upgrade: the problem was cured by adding a HEAVY gauge piece of copper wire, connecting the ground of the RAM expansion board and the ST board. How the ground connection could lead to a ST recognizing the expansion as 128Kbyte remains unsolved. Anyway, it works. Related question: how about cooling the power supply? Mega1's don't include a fan, and the case becomes pretty hot.
