The reason Aprotek modems do not detect BUSY and VOICE as they should is
due to an error in the manufacture of one of the chips.  The error was
supposedly the fault of the company Aprotek contracted to produce the
particular chip (I don't know which one).  Only a very few Aprotek modems
actually detect BUSY and VOICE - I guess some get through all right, because
their individual testing revealed that about 5 or 10% of the modems DID
work.  (I learned all this talking to the technician one day last year.)

Incidentally, my Minimodem-H24 doesn't detect BUSY or VOICE either.
