I've been thinking of getting another 1581, and I'd probably upgrade to JDOS 6.0 at the same time, but I don't relish the thought of buying three new drive chips (not to mention putting them in). (And yes, I know one comes free...that's my excuse for upgrading; to get the new 1581 controller chip.) If 6.0 uses different drive ROMs, are they downwardly compatible with the 5.0 drive ROMs, or will my drives blow up on me? :) Thanks for all the help. --Andrew
