Two possibilities: 1) You're missing some hardware feature. For example, I know that 2BSD insists on having a floating point unit. The FPP is a M7093 in slot 3. 2) You've got some broken hardware. Try running the diagnostics for the 11/44 (if you have a diagnostic tape/disk). The 44-specific diags are named K-something. So, try KKAA, KKAB, KKAC, KFPA, KFPB and also ZMSP to test memory.
