Message-ID: <40803@cup.portal.com> Date: 3 Apr 91 00:31:49 GMT Distribution: na Organization: The Portal System (TM) Lines: 29 whilst re-installing P/OS 3.2 on my Pro 350, after I installed the base system, I displayed all the installed options, and for the first time I noticed an option 'positional input devices' or something similar. To me at least, this would imply a mouse, is there such a thing? I am just curious. I use DCL mostly when running P/OS, and see no need for a mouse. I havent got it, but I hear the software Synergy (sp? DECUS catalogue # PRO180), is a window-type system... And now, for something totally (or mildly) different. As I stated, I was reinstalling P/OS, the reason being that I had used the drive in another machine for a little time (I installed the drive in a AT&T 3B1, and after that, put it back in my Pro). I tried to install everything, and it seemed to have worked OK, but when I got done and the installation says to power off and on, nothing happens. I get the graphic display of DIGITAL that you always see after power on, but P/OS never loaded. Anyone have any ideas why? The installation disks I have are write protected, so the fact that Ive installed these same disks on about three of my machine shouldnt have anything to do with it. The only thing I can dredge up is that I had RT-11 on the machine, and maybe RT wrote some stuff to the NVRAM and P/OS just never updated it, maybe? (unless this might be a sign that my Pro is dying?) Anyone any ideas, hints, blatent flames for stupidity? Thanx Billy D'Augustine Azog-Thoth@cup.portal.com
