The first version of Tetris to use Machine language routines was lightning fast a very challanging (probably to challenging). Now as the program gets more bells and whisels it seems to be as slow as the original non-ML versions. I hope that this does not seem too much like a complaint. I have been very pleased with Tetris and the work done by the authors.
