I'm trying to get documentation and software for an "obsolete" 9836C. I've tried the local HP people but they haven't been able to help. This computer is to be used as part of a student built and operated satellite tracking station at UNM, and we'd like to use the HP-IB port for control of equipment. I posted to this group about a year ago asking for help, and someone was kind enough to donate about two boxes of software, but these disks were stolen ( along with our PC and other disks) in August. I guess the thief thought the HP disks had PC programs on them.. ugh Anyhow, we still have the 9836C and would love to get it up and running. Someone said we could run UNIX on it, but would need some extra memory and such. Help in this area would be appreciated, too. The group - Students for the Exploration and Development of Space - is a non-profit organization that's been around since 1980. We've been at UNM since 1987, so any contributions of software, manuals, or options for the unit can be recognized with the necessary paperwork from the university. BTW, security has been improved to prevent another morale-breaking break-in to our station. Thanks for the bandwidth.
