Try to change the printer cable. Windows is much more picky about all the status lines beeing connected. I had such a problem twice. The first problem was indeed caused by the printer cable - changing to an original HP cable solved the problem. The second problem was caused by a intelligent printer buffer/switcher, which only implemented those lines which are usually used (or didn't implement the Centronics protocol right, - don't know). Sending the buffer to the manufacturer who made a hardware & software fix solved the problem. Wolfgang Strobl #include
