Hi everyone.  I've got a question and an opinion.  The question first:

Occasionally, I have come across snds which, when I play them at their default
speeds via SoundMaster, play at twice their normal speed.  I can of course read
them in with SoundEdit and set the pitch, but this doesn't really fix the
problem when using SoundMaster.  So, my question is this:  Does anyone know how
I could modify the file so that, if it were a 22K file, it would think it was
a 11K file, and thus it would scan through the data at half its speed, and thus
it would be fine.  I imagine ResEdit may be the starting point.

Now my comment:  Recently, someone asked me to play with a program called
Empower II which is a disk security program.  It seems to be really effective,
bug-free, and powerful.  For anyone who needs multiple users on a single
machine, this program lets each user have an individual password, and lets the
Administrator assign users to groups.  Each folder and the files within it is
then opened to only certain groups, and thus only certain users.  Data on the
drive is optionally encrypted, with a claimed trivial 1% increase in access
time for encrypted files.  Booting and access to/from the floppy drive can be
disabled, and access to the hard drive when booting from a floppy can be
disabled.  Basically, the program is really great (its a CDEV).  If anyone
happens to need/want such a program, send me e-mail and I can get further
details on purchasing it or using it.  Sorry, but I don't remember who it is
who made the thing, and I am *not* in any way trying to play salesman.  I just
liked it a lot.
