It seems that currently there are 2 such products in the market: the MacRecorder by Farallon Computing, and the VoiceLink by Articulate Systems. According to the price quoted by MacWarehouse, MacRecorder is about $40 cheaper than VoiceLink ($199 vs $159). From the ad. of Articulate Systems, the VoiceLink looks pretty cool, and the ad. says that the VoiceLink has a buildin DSP and onboard digital compression, so it doesn't tie up the CPU. However, since the there is a $40 difference (about 25%), I really want to know are the DSP and onboard compession worth the extra money. So I like to know do any of you have any experience with these 2 products ? I am especially interested in the comparison of: the quality of the hardwares and the softwares; the functinality of the softwares (i.e. what kind of editing jobs can I do and what kind of files it generates); the quality and the size of the sounds digitized by the 2 systems. Please reply in email, and I will summarize all the responses and post it to the net. Thanks for any response. -- ___________________________________________________________________________ Ming Yau So | <<< This area >>> Internet: mings@cs.uoregon.edu | <<< intentionally >>> AOL: Ming So | <<< left blank >>>
