System 7.0 can run on any Macintosh except the original Macintosh and the 
Macintosh 512; those early models do not have recent enough ROMs. All 
later models, including the Plus, the SE, the Classic, and the LC, can run 
System 7.0.

However, System 7.0 does require 2 Meg of RAM and a hard disk, and of 
course virtual memory will not be available on machines that do not have a 
PMMU.
