Message-ID: <1991Apr2.061319.5531@rathe.cs.umn.edu> Date: 2 Apr 91 06:13:19 GMT Sender: gn@rathe.cs.umn.edu (Greg Noel) Distribution: na Organization: Rathe, Inc. Lines: 23 Still no luck doing a backup of a slab, can anyone help? Details.... I have a Viper 150, which was borrowed from our sparcstation, and am attempting to backup a 400 Meg NeXTstation. When booting the tape drive is recognized (ARCHIVE VIPER 150 21531 as st0 at sc0 target 4 lun 0 ), but I cannot figure out a way to get dump or even dd to work with it. How do I get dump to recognize it as a 150 meg tape drive and not claim I'm using bad media? Gosh, I sure wish I would receive my OS on floppy. I'll be nervous that weasels are going to eat my hard disk until I can either get it backed-up or UPS brings a package from NeXT. -- Greg Noel Rathe, inc uunet!umn-cs!rathe!gn Voice: (612) 225-1401 "Excess breeds tolerance." -Jim Carroll
