I am posting the answer to my own question here. If you do not have the updated version of fpversion, then you get the output shown above. The updated version of fpversion reports: A SPARC-based CPU is available. CPU's clock rate appears to be approximately 40.3 MHz. The clock rate is probably 40.0 Mz. Sun-4 floating-point controller version 2 found. A TI TMS390C602A-based FPU is available. FPU's frequency appears to be approximately 39.7 MHz. The clock rate is probably 40.0 Mz.
