I've recently switched from formatting references explicitly with
\bibitem{...} to using Bibtex, and was wondering whether anyone had
written a program to convert the explicit format to the bibtex format.  
(Even if it was only capable of recognizing the author, title and journal 
fields for @article, it would save a lot of editting.)
