R & D, Schenectady, NY Lines: 33 Some people here had some unused copies of A/UX, and when they finally tried to install it on a new MacSI, a failure occured. The report on the screen says (approximately. I got the info from a phone). ----- Autorecovery SCSI reset disk c5d0s0 error: SCSI timeout generic disk c5d0s0 fatal error: logical block 0, physical block 195904 (repeated three times) fsck: can't determine file system type of /dev/default fsck: no file system specified and finally chroot failed --------------- We updated an external 80 Meg Apple disk using the 2.0.1 Update we got via ftp. This same disk worked fine with a MacCI, but when we moved the disk to a MacSI, we got the above error. The user tells me the system software on the 80 Meg drive is 6.0.7. Any clues? Do we need the A/UX startup files that the Floppy update provides? (We are also placing a call to Apple.) Thanks for any help. -- Bruce G. Barnett uunet!crdgw1!barnett
