The archie server on quiche.cs.mcgill.ca (telnet to it and log in as "archie" with no password) knows of no sites archiving comp.unix.admin. |> - a list of book titles that people recommend, with ISBN You will probably find this periodic posting useful: Subject: YABL (Yet Another Book List) Newsgroups: comp.unix.questions,alt.books.technical If it has expired at your site, you can get a copy of it using the instructions at the end of this message. |> - a list of public-domain (or otherwise) software that |> is useful in administrating Unix machines, with details of |> how to obtain the software. Browse through comp.sources.unix and comp.sources.misc. That's where most of the good stuff is archived, although you might also want to dig through alt.sources. There's a lot of software out there. It's hard to just jump on top of all of it and try to grab everything. Wait until you need some particular utility and then look for it, and you will almost certainly find it. -- Jonathan Kamens USnail: MIT Project Athena 11 Ashford Terrace jik@Athena.MIT.EDU Allston, MA 02134 Office: 617-253-8085 Home: 617-782-0710 -- Subject: YABL (Yet Another Book List) Newsgroups: comp.unix.questions,alt.books.technical Available via anonymous ftp from pit-manager.mit.edu (18.72.1.58) in the file /pub/usenet/comp.unix.questions/YABL_(Yet_Another_Book_List) Available from mail-server@pit-manager.mit.edu by sending a message containing send usenet/comp.unix.questions/YABL_(Yet_Another_Book_List) Send a message containing "help" to get general information about the mail server.
