I am thinking about upgrading my 386-20 system and would like to be able to use the 8 MB of sip drams. I don't care if the SIPS are to be installed on the mainboard or an expansion card. I've called some mail-order houses. It seems that most mainboards with fast (> 20) CPU and cache use SIMMs these days, and some of them support 16mb. I would appreciate any information and answers to the following questions. o What brand is it? (name of manufacturer or dealer) o Speed o Size of cache o Max memory that can be installed (either on mainboard or thru ram cards) o BIOS brand o supports adaptec 1542 bus mastering scsi controller card? o UN*X compatibility Thanks again. And I'll summarize if I get enough reponses.
