Message-ID: <361@unf7.UUCP> Date: 3 Apr 91 16:21:43 GMT Organization: Univ. of N. Florida, Jacksonville Lines: 19 I just installed an Adaptec 1542b as a secondary controller and put a DOS partition (32 meg) and Interactive Unix 2.2 partition on it (48 meg). The DOS parition is the first one. I have an ST506 compliant primary controller (Perstor card) with 2 drives attached. The devices I use for these two so VP/ix can see them (utilizing "dosmount") are /dev/dsk/0p1 and /dev/dsk/1p1. The secondary controller naming of partitions is different as the docs do explain (i.e. my Unix partition is named /dev/dsk/c1d0s5). However, I could not find a mention by ISC as to whether I can do this or not. If I can, then it looks like I need to use "mknod" to create the proper major and minor number of the device (DOS partition). Could some kind soul please explain how to do it? Thanks! ---------------------------------------- Steve Hite UUCP: ...gatech!uflorida!unf7!shite Internet: shite@sinkhole.unf.edu
