So I've got the conversion utility, >but don't know where to find the GIFs. Anyone got any good suggestions? I've got a better idea for you...try using Fractint to display any image that's better than VGA. I normally use Cshow to view all my .gif files, but Cshow only goes up to 640x480x256. For higher resolutions, Fractint will display up to 1280x1024 or so. I've got a few 1024x768x256 .gif files, and with my noninterlaced Orchid II and Sony 1304 they are UNBELIEVABLE. I can put my nose 6" from the screen and it looks solid as a rock and I can make out fine details, better than a photograph in my opinion! Well anyway, to answer your question... try these sites: juy.fi (128.214.7.5) uunet.uu.net /tmp/war (war images) c.scs.uiuc.edu wuarchive.wustl.edu /mirrors/msdos/gif (you can get CSHW823A.ZIP here which is what I mentioned above) rogue.stanford.edu (36.80.0.138-141: the last 3 numbers in this address seem to move around!)-- /pub/images garbo.uwasa.fi (128.214.12.37) /pc/gif I would start with wuarchive.wustl.edu, then go to 36.80.0.138.
