We would like to run the X display manager but have a problem. A "feature" of a file system we use is that it displays adjustments it makes to time and other extraneous messages to /dev/console, even when noone is logged in, thus cluttering up the nice screen that xdm is supposed to greet you with. I would like to redirect this information to a file, preferably /dev/null. Has anyone out there hacked at xdm or have a program not needing an active terminal to deal with, which could do this for me. Any help would be appreciated!!! -- John C.
