What about the countries which are prodominantly islam? In terms of world religions, Christianity comes in a solid second to Islam so this is not a trivial consideration. I don't know of any islamic countries off hand that I would really call "developed" with the possible exception of Turkey so the conclusion drawn above may be premature.
