  uuencode is a six bit to eight bit table lookup. There is also
xxencode (same thing but other characters for mapping), btoa (smaller
output files), and abe (similar size, many bells and whistles).

  The code for uuencode is in a lot of places, post another note if you
don't get burried in offers.
