Germany Lines: 33 Recently I purchased a 2400 Baud Modem (Global Village Teleport) for my Macintosh in the USA. In the manual of the modem you can read that there may be a few settings which need to be changed if you use it outside of the USA. They mentioned following settings: 1. Bell/CCITT: Default setting instructs the modem to operate in Bell 212A mode(1200 bps) or Bell 103 mode(300bps). It can be changed to operate in CCITT V.22 mode(1200 bps) or V.21 mode (300bps). 2.Guard Tones Default setting is to use a 550 Hz guard tone It can be changed to use 1800 Hz guard tone or to use no guard tone 3.Make/Break Pulse Ratio Default setting is to use make/break = 39/61 without adaptive dialing It can be changed to use a make/break ratio = 33/67 without adaptive dialing. Does anybody know if I have to change some of these default settings if I'm going to use the modem in Germany.
