Well, what you want is a time-division multiplexer.  These are 
available from many different companies.  Just to grab one of the 
catalogs here, I see that Black Box has a 2-channel sync TDM for 
$245, and 4-channel sync TDM for $425, and a 2-channel async TDM for 
$495.
