As soon as we dial out, some of the modems normally start receiving large amounts of data even though its not being read by the application program. After completing dial-out, we have to wait a variable amount of time to connect passively to a remote host, then start reading and writing to the modems using the NOTIFIER on the SUN. If I only have to wait a few minutes before starting to read and write from the modems everything is fine. When I have to wait over 10 minutes, I seem to be able to read data, but when I write to one of the ports that have been receiving large amounts of unread data, I get a broken pipe signal. Any ideas, or solutions? Thanks in advance. Phil Zinno FAA Technical Center Technical Facilities Division Software Engineering Branch Simulation Systems Support Section zinno@faatcrl.UUCP
