But that's not important right now. Lines: 38 Category 10, Topic 2 Message 132 Fri Apr 05, 1991 D.RUFFER [Dennis] at 21:08 EST ......NEWS FLASH...... X3J14 Central: Of the three items out for mail ballot, 2 have been rejected and 1 has passed. The ones that failed had to do with conditional compilation words (nobody likes the names) and left paren. The one that passed is for sending BASIS 15 on to the SPARC committee. So, you can stop worrying about [IF] or whatever you want to call it and start thinking about writting comments to ANSI. Actually, there are a couple of steps let before we have a dpANS. The first happens if they get any no votes from that mail ballot. They've had enough to pass the resolution, but if any no's are received they have the responsibility of resolving the issue(s) that caused the no vote(s). This mostly means writting a whole bunch of words to justify their position, but there is a tenative meeting scheduled for May 3rd hosted by Mitch Bradly just in case they need it. Assuming they can resolve the no votes (if they get any) quickly, they then send the document to the ANS planning committee (SPARC) who then gets to decide if they have sweated enough blood. If they feel everything is in order, they then send it to ANS and we enter the public review period. Best estimates put this at early June. The public review lasts for 4 months and then, barring any irreconcilable differences, we'll have an ANS Forth standard sometime around the 4th quarter. Let's hope we can do it! {B-{)> DaR ----- This message came from GEnie via willett. You *cannot* reply to the author using e-mail.
