We recently changed our Internet domain name, and made appropriate changes everywhere (we hope :-), including sendmail.cf. The problem is, mail addressed to the *old* address bounces due to "service unavailable". Here is a look at what I (as postmaster) get: (The old domain is "cancer.utexas.edu", the new one is "mda.uth.tmc.edu") ----- Transcript of session follows ----- Connected to mdaali.cancer.utexas.edu: >>> HELO mdaali.mda.uth.tmc.edu <<< 553 mdaali.mda.uth.tmc.edu host name configuration error 554 ... Service unavailable We have set "Dwmdaali.mda.uth.tmc.edu" Setting "Cwmdaali.cancer.utexas.edu mdaali.mda.uth.tmc.edu", as was suggested to me, didn't change things. I don't have great knowledge of these things, and the manual is its usual cryptic self. I'd appreciate getting an e-mail (to the new address (which works, thank goodness)) and I'll summarize answers. Please help us stop bouncing most of our mail! -- David C.
