I've never heard anyone grumbling about the coherent cron and sync daemon processes. So I begin to worry it is just me... When I installed coherent last fall I noticed that the cron and sync daemon processes were not running when I did ps commands. So I looked into the start-up scripts and found that they were supposedly being started and dumpped into the background. Hmmm... They had to be terminating for some reason. I tried starting them by hand too. They would run, but not when backgrounded. So after messin' for a while it looked like they would only work of stdout went somewhere real. So I redirected stdout to /dev/null and all is well now. Is this one only me??? I doubt it could be a hardware thing... -- !
