[on the heels of a discussion of SVGA under Desqview]

Back on the farm:  I can't even run standard mode, only real.
Same symptoms:  I get popped back to a DOS prompt (w/o a cursor)
after the stupid logo (stupid because instead of the logo I would
have preferred some diagnostic messages).  I've tried various
combinations of himem, emm386, smartdrv, loading without turbo,
you name it.  What's going on?!!??
