Summary: Am I due for a meltdown,+ harddiscs Keywords: overloading Archimedes PSU Message-ID: Date: 3 Apr 91 11:50:14 GMT Sender: news@cs.man.ac.uk Lines: 17 I've finally got around to installing a new harddisc, some time ago I mailed a question about ST506 drives - well the drive I've got is one thanks for those replies, bascially if there's a 34-way and 20-way cable from the drive then is probably an ST506. I've got a SCSI drive inside the Archimedes, and this 10MB (old) drive as an external, powered from the internal PSU - just spliced the power lead. I've noticed that the PSU gets rather hot during intensive use of the external H/d, have I overloaded it ? -- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - JANET E-mail : vanaards@uk.ac.man.cs.p4 (Steven van Aardt) -- -- Warning this user has been designated for termination on the 21.6.91 -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
