Ch. 27: "Geometric Intersection" contains "Horizontal and Vertical Lines",
"Implementation", "General Line Intersection".

In Ch.24 Sedgewick covers the horizontal line test, in Ch.27 he uses a
database of line-coordinates.

The book is quite terse, you may find more elaborate descriptions in a book
on computer graphics.
