There have been DOZENS of life implementations for the Apple II. The first one I used came on Cassette, ran in Integer basic and used the low resolution graphics screen to display generations. This was in 1978-79. There is a very good Prodos 8 based life that came around two or three years ago. I think it was shareware. It was called Lifelike.System. It ran on the IIe and better and used the double hires screen do display generations. It had all kinds of features for editing cells, and even the rules used to calculate generations. It also came with docs and lots of cool sample files. I recommend it. Seymour Joseph
