(never) That's easy -- "PC" is part of the proper name of the IBM toy computers, but not of the proper name of any of the other brands. One sometimes hears "p.c." used to refer to ALL "personal computers", but due to the possibility of confusion with the one specific brand (IBM PC), this is less common than it was before IBM stepped into this market.
